Slovenia ski resorts are suitable for all the generations
Slovenia is a small central European country, known for its lakes, mountains and ski resorts, offering good snow conditions. Its small but scenic ski areas offer great value and friendly service, as well as a surprising variety of slopes, less than one hour from Ljubljana airport. Due to the relatively short distances, Slovenia gives you the opportunity to ski at more different ski resorts in one holiday.
Family skiing holidays demand a right choice of a resort and accommodation. Look for the resorts with organised childcare, child-friendly ski areas, good choice of fun activities off the slopes, excellent tuition and accommodation ideally suited to families.
The Vogel ski centre lies high above the magnificent Lake Bohinj, in the heart of the Triglav National Park. Thanks to the natural conditions, the ski season on Mount Vogel usually lasts from December to the first days of May. The resortˈ s slopes are not demanding and are excellently prepared. For lovers of cross-country skiing there is also a shorter skating track.
Bohinj ski resort is set in the Julian Alps, near the biggest natural lake in Slovenia. It has extraordinary scenery and a lovely village charm that will convince even the most demanding tourist.
Its main ski areas are Vogel and Kobla, both located in the Triglav National Park. In total, the skiing ground stretches up to 50km of runs, which are in majority well suited to intermediates and beginners. The resort also offers a snowboard school.
