After you see lake Bohinj, you will understand why many people think of it as the most beautiful natural sight in Slovenia. As the region of Bohinj is full of small towns like Stara Fužina and Studor, their exploration offers a lot of joy to all those who donˈ t want to have an overly active holiday. All the fitness fanatics thought, will see the lake as perfect for all kinds of water sports like swimming, boat riding, wind surfing, kayaking or canoeing, fly fishing, diving and even ice skating in the winter. The lake lays in the heart of Triglav national park. The ground around the lake is usually the start for short or long hiking treks into the Julian Alps.
The Bohinj region camp offer is relatively small, within a small distance from the lake there are only two camps Camp Danica and Camp Zlatorog all the others are more than 10 km away from it.
Camp Danica can be found in town Bohinjska Bistrica, inside pleasant woods along the Bohinjka river. It has a peaceful and purely natural background, with a view of Triglav and the Bohinj mountains. The camp has 200 camping pitches that all lay on a grassy ground in shade of old trees. For all the sport lovers it offers tennis, basketball and football courts, table tennis and bowling areas. The camp is open all year long, main sanitary facilities building is heated and there is also a restaurant, working the entire year.
