Bohinj lake is perfect place for an active holiday
Lake Bohinj is one of the top natural pearls of Slovenia. It lies within Triglav National Park, enclosed by the beautiful Julian Alps. It has approximately 4 km in length and a good km in width. Its crystal clear water warms up during the summer (June – September) and is excellent for bathing, kayaking and wind surfing. The area around the lake draws fans of various sport activities. Bohinj lake camping is suitable for all the nature lovers. There are at least two camps near the lake that you can visit. Camp Zlatorog is located in Ukanc, close to Lake Bohinj and Triglav National Park. On the other hand, Danica Camp lies near to the centre of Bohinjska Bistrica village. It is available during summer and winter season.
A holiday cottage or a holiday house is an accommodation used for holiday vacations. In the Bohinj area there are quite a few holiday houses, but let us mention only two. Holiday house Destina stands on a peaceful location, only 5 minutes away from the lake, while holiday house Zoltar is located only few steps from the center of Bohinjska Bistrica.For everyone that needs accommodation for mainly sleeping and does not care for a great comfort, Bohinj offers some hostels that are especially suitable for younger generations or youthful elders. Near the lake Bohinj, there is also a big choice of private apartments that can be placed in family houses, holiday homes, cottages, huts etc.
